Project challenges
As a key player in the energy and ecological transition, RTE (a public service company and electricity system operator) launched a major initiative in 2016 to raise awareness of sustainability and CSR among its managers.
Solution provided
- Blended commitment programme (digital & face-to-face):
- offered prior to training for managers and as self-service training for employees:
- a module on Sustainable Development & CSR (30 minutes) supplemented by a module about CSR within RTE (30 minutes) , these two modules were rolled out simultaneously in early 2018: more than 6,000 employees have completed them, representing 70% of RTE employees to date
- a third module on climate change (30 minutes) has also been available since early 2021
- Design and delivery of an ‘engaging’ one-day training course for managers, available in person or online
- offered prior to training for managers and as self-service training for employees:
- Key factors for the success of the training:
- Use of reverse pedagogy (creation of a ‘timeline of SD to CSR at RTE’ during the session),
- Case study to understand the value creation of CSR,
- Testimonial from an external stakeholder, reflection on the contribution of participants’ professions to CSR and individual action plan,
- ‘pitch elevator’ on the CSR approach (training in handling objections)
