Climate Change Adaptation Workshop
The keys to collectively making the best possible choices and avoid maladjustments
The impacts of climate change are becoming more widespread and intense, with significant consequences for our human organisations. In addition to seeking to mitigate climate change as much as possible, we must therefore learn to adapt to it. The Climate Change Adaptation Workshops are based on the report of Working Group II of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). Inspired by the Fresque du Climat teaching method, they are driven by collective intelligence and use cards that have already been created as well as cards that are yet to be created.
Goals
- Gain a better understanding of what ‘adaptation’ is. This is often confused with ‘mitigation’
- Acquire a method for making the right choices
- Experience the collective dimension: because without dialogue and collaboration, an adaptation measure risks failure when it is implemented
- Understand the urgency of adaptation as well as mitigation
