Biodiversity Fresk
Understanding the issues related to the systemic aspect of biodiversity erosion in a fun way
The Biodiversity Fresco is the leading collaborative workshop for collectively understanding the challenges and pressures surrounding biodiversity, based on the IPBES (Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) report, through a fun, visual workshop that is accessible to all. Inspired by reverse pedagogy through 39 cards, bring your teams to life with a workshop that will enable them to have lightbulb moments, understand ecosystems, and/or develop skills to better talk about and take action on the subject.
Goals
- Understanding the challenges and pressures surrounding biodiversity
- Identifying how to take action to reverse the trend
Program
STEP 1
- 'Apéro' with 3 ecosystems: Recreate an ecosystem and discover the impacts of a disturbance within it.
STEP 2
- The 39 cards in the game: Distributed in 5 sets, participants divided into teams of 5-7 must find the links between the 39 cards to understand what biodiversity is, what it brings and what degrades it.
STEP 3
- Turn your Fresco into a work of art: Participants must decorate their Fresco and come up with a title for it in order to present their work to the other teams.
STEP 4
- Debriefing and courses of action: Tailored to the objectives of the session, the debriefing on what has been learned aims to develop an action plan by collaboratively reflecting on solutions to combat the erosion of biodiversity.
